The duo had been ushered into the facility by the room attendant, in the wee hours of Monday morning.
However, the room attendant, Caroline Mbulwa, noticed something amiss when the two failed to emerge from the room 14 hours later.
“She walked towards the room as an eerie silence settled over the corridor usually humming with husky voices, punctuated by fits of laughter.
“Several knocks on the door yielded no response confirming Caroline’s fears, prompting her to inform her employer who called in detectives based at DCI Embakasi,” narrated the DCI in part.
The officers broke into the room only to discover the lifeless bodies of the two middle-aged adults who could not be immediately identified.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the two may have been drugged before getting into the room. However, detectives affirmed that they are leaving nothing to chance.
Forensic Crime Scene investigators processed the scene scientifically before handing it over to their homicide counterparts, who will undoubtedly unravel the murder mystery.
The incident adds to the alarming cases of Kenyans found dead in lodgings which have been on the rise. Many victims, especially in their middle ages, have died as a result of sexual intercourse.
In March, a 40-year-old man was found dead in an apartment in Kilimani, Nairobi after he was making love to a 25-year-old, an employee from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
Josphat Ngaruiya, was reported to have died while having sexual intercourse with the 25-year-old woman identified as JM on February 28, 2022, at Myra Apartment along Kindaruma road.
Another man was found dead on Tuesday, January 4, with DCI detectives recovering two used condoms from a lodging in Mlolongo, Machakos County.
The only recent instance that did not involve a man above the age of 30 involved a 22-year-old first-year student of Maasai Mara University who was reported to have died in Narok County on Thursday, February 24 after overdosing on a sexual enhancement pill.
