Ngirici, who has expressed her intention to remove Waiguru from her gubernatorial seat in 2022, warned her not to fault her newfound home in UDA
The conversation on reports of Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru’s looming arrest has drawn the attention of Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Ngirici, who took to social media and mocked her rival.
Viral Tea learnt that the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) had already completed investigations into the allegations and will forward the files to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for the commencement of the prosecution.
But Waiguru poked holes at a front-page article by the People Daily newspaper on Thursday, October 27 that revealed that detectives were concluding investigations into corruption allegations at the county government, which could see her arrested as early as next week.
She claimed that the move by the EACC is politically instigated, given that she had just joined Deputy President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) after dumping the ruling Jubilee party.

“Surely, barely 48hrs after we decamped to UDA, and now this? As a believer in the rule of law, this is unfortunate.
“Its intention is to dissuade those contemplating the same & an attempt at engineering succession politics. it won’t work. Kenyans are not stupid,” she wrote on her social media handles.
Ngirici, who has expressed her intention to remove Waiguru from her gubernatorial seat in 2022, warned her not to fault her newfound home in UDA, rebuking her additionally for blaming the graft investigations on her decision to ditch Jubilee.
“When anti-graft agencies strike, don’t blame it on joining UDA. We have built the party from scratch,” she wrote.
Ngirici welcomed Waiguru into the UDA party but warned that she will not cede in wrestling the county seat away from her.
“There are those who were singing that no one could stop reggae. You know some of them say that they have joined our camp this morning to join hands with us since they are listening to Wanjiku.
“What made me happy was that they said they listened to what you (the voters) are saying. You have said that you will support those who help you,” she stated.
Ngirici explained that she would only support Waiguru if she beats her in the nominations. Additionally, she would vouch for the Kirinyaga residents’ wishes and needs.
“I tell them that I have welcomed them into Hustler Nation and they should listen to Wanjiku. Since they have come late, as the gubernatorial aspirant in the party, I am asking them to humble themselves, go through the nominations and I am ready to face them because I am not afraid.
“If the people of Kirinyaga decide that you are going to be their Governor, well and good. I will seat back and support you. If I defeat you, you should also accept,” added Ngirici.
