How KBC’s Shiksha Arora’s Indian Wedding Went Down (PHOTOS)

KBC news anchor Shiksha Arora held a low-key Indian wedding over the weekend where she walked down the aisle with her fiancé Salman Manji as a way of announcing that she is off the singles market.

The ceremony was held at a hotel along the Kenyan coast and had attracted close friends and family members as well as a section of media personalities well known to her.

She took to her Instagram stories to share a barrage of updates mostly taken by other invited guests as the beautiful couple held a colourful ceremony reminiscent of an Indian-themed wedding.

Arora was dressed in a beautifully-decorated classic red wedding dress while Manji rocked a creamy sherwani, a famous wedding outfit featuring a long coat-like garment with an open front that is also worn during formal events.

The Easy Friday anchor back in 2020 got engaged to Manji while they were vacationing in South Africa, a befitting start to the new decade for her.

The announcement came on the first day of January 2020 (New Year’s Day), which she termed as the best day of her life.

“He asked and I said yes. It (sic) just got real, like diamond kinda real!!! Thank you for making me the happiest girl in the world & for the most special day of my life!

“I can’t wait to annoy you for the rest of our lives. Let’s start with forever now shall we?” she captioned in an Instagram post.

Arora is undoubtedly one of the most vibrant news anchors in the country, always adapting to the modern trends of Kenya’s youth as well as connecting to Kenyans across the country as a woman of Asian origin.

Known as the dancing anchor, she has established her dominance in social media platforms such as Instagram and Tik Tok with her dance moves that go viral anytime they are uploaded. One of her videos on December 1, 2020, hit a gargantuan 26.2 million views on Facebook.

The video introduced by the East FM radio presenter and shared via the station’s Facebook page spread as far as the Asian audience and non-Asian audience while receiving international recognition. In the video, posted on November 11, 2020, prior to the Diwali celebrations, Arora featured Homeboyz Radio evening drive presenters Kerry Martin and Lotan Salapei and Smooth FM morning show host Mike Wachira.

Losing her job at K24 when the TV station swept away its entire newsroom mid that year never stopped her relentless rise to the top, which has seen her land marketing contracts with a number of companies through her online presence.

On Saturday, June 12, 2021, she dropped a subtle tweet that stoked the curiosity of her fans, who had largely missed her vibrance while presenting countless news bulletins, a tweet that would eventually lead to her media comeback under the national broadcaster.

“It is an absolute honour to be back on your screens, I had missed everything about live television, the lights, the cameras, the action and a year later, I am back, back like I never left.

“KBC is my new home and I can’t wait to create magic once again every Friday at 9 PM,” she wrote.

Arora would later tell Viral Tea that she was called to undergo screen tests before her new move, on the same day KBC announced their statement rebrand.

Other than dancing, she enjoys cooking and recently developed a liking for fitness. As a Jill of all trades, she also travels quite often, having been to places such as South African and Dubai.
