A hilarious battle played out on social media hours after American singer, actress, fashion designer, and businesswoman Rihanna announced that she will launch her Fenty Beauty products across eight African countries.

Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe were picked as the lucky African nations set to benefit from the continental launch on May 27, 2022.

“I’ve been waiting for this moment! Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin are finally dropping in Africa! Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe…We coming at you May 27th and that’s just the beginning!” she announced.

However, it was the inclusion of Kenya into the shortlist over her East African neighbours Uganda and Tanzania that rattled some netizens of the two nations, especially Uganda.

Charlotte Atim, a writer based in Uganda, quizzed the Love The Way You Lie hitmaker on why she included Kenya over her next-door neighbour, claiming that the capital city of Nairobi has no electricity connection, seemingly in reference to the nationwide blackout on Tuesday, January 11.

She triggered a clash of nations on social media, with Kenyans On Twitter (KOT) known for taking on anyone regardless of status, descending upon her response in ruthless fashion with all manner of responses and memes.

The hashtag #KenyaVsUganda was trending by the time of publishing this story, with Kenyans trolling her with all manner of hilarious memes and facts about Kenya and perceptions about Ugandans.

Here are some of them:
