“However, the information is partly out there and I wanted you to hear it from me first. Love you all and thank you,” shared Lynn Ngugi.

Ngugi did not share any details of her next destination. Before her departure, she served as the human interest journalist sharing inspiring stories that have won her accolades and recognition from Kenyans.

In July, she was awarded the I Change Nations Community Ambassador Award, for her commitment and dedication to impacting lives in her community.

“Thank you, Dr. Ruben West, and your wonderful team for this award. Dedicating this to all of you that secretly pray for me.

“The last couple of months have been challenging but this was just an affirmation that the best is yet to come and I should keep going,” she wrote after receiving the award.

In January 2017, TUKO became the number one news and entertainment website, barely two years after being set up. It dislodged media giants Nation and Standard Media Group in its rise to the top.

It was set up by global consumer internet company, Genesis Technologies and features a mix of trending local and international news, viral content, gossip and entertainment that have seen the website rise over the traditional leaders of the digital space.

The website recorded over 1.7 million users as of October 2017. Currently, the website boasts of a Facebook community of over 6 million fans.

TUKO has more than 20 categories of news which helps to draw in a diverse online audience. It is also one of the few purely online news websites with an application for Android users, downloadable through the Google Play Store.

Back in April 2021, it entered a rare media and content-sharing partnership with fast-rising TV station TV47 and began by broadcasting a 20-minute human interest feature produced and compiled exclusively by TUKO at 8.30 pm on Saturday, April 10.

TV47 and TUKO are Kenya’s most vibrant news companies, producing stellar content that is targeting the Kenyan youth who make up the lion’s share of the general population. The taglines “Home of Untold Stories” and “The Heartbeat of Kenya” correspond well.
