Shiksha Arora Makes TV Comeback After One-Year Absence

Former K24 presenter Shiksha Arora will return to national TV screens under national media outfit Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) on Friday, June 25, one year after she left the Mediamax station.

She took to Twitter on Monday, June 21 to announce her comeback to the big screen ahead of the station's relaunch later in the day, reminiscing about her moments on live television.

She also shared a photo of herself posing outside the KBC studios in Nairobi CBD in an outfit that reminded her fans just what they missed in the entire year she has been away from the eyes of viewers.

"It is an absolute honour to be back on your screens, I had missed everything about live television, the lights, the cameras, the action and a year later, I am back, back like I never left.

"KBC is my new home and I can’t wait to create magic once again every Friday at 9 PM," she wrote.

Arora will host Easy Friday English news bulletin alongside Fred Indimuli, who was also an anchor at the Mediamax Station. Ahmed Juma Bhalo and Nancy Onyancha will join Arora and Indimuli in what is likely to be a reunion of K24 TV presenters.

On Saturday, June 12, she dropped a subtle tweet that stoked curiosity of her fans, who had largely missed her vibrance while presenting countless news bulletins.

"It’s going to be a whole year since I last went on air on TV. I miss that adrenaline rush when the director starts the countdown before going live," she tweeted.

Arora will join a star-studded list of anchors, that includes a hybrid of young and veteran anchors as KBC prepares for its major relaunch. Among those veteran anchors that will grace the channel's screen include Tom Mboya, Catherine Kasavuli, Badi Muhsin, Cynthia Nyamai, Pauline Sheghu, John Kioria and Fayaz Kureish.

Since her exit from K24 in 2020, she has been investing more in her online presence, growing her followers by uploading more content consisting mainly of dance videos. One of her videos on December 1, 2020 hit a gargantuan 26.2 million views on Facebook.

The video introduced by the East FM radio presenter and shared via the station’s Facebook page spread as far as the Asian audience and non-Asian audience while receiving international recognition.

In the video, posted on November 11, 2020 prior to the Diwali celebrations, Arora featured Homeboyz Radio evening drive presenters Kerry Martin, Lotan Salapei and Smooth FM morning show host Mike Wachira.

"We kind of went viral & hit 26.2 million views on East FM‘s Facebook page! Magic happens when two rich cultures intertwine.

"Glad to know that people all over the world appreciate that African/Indian combination”, tweeted Arora after the announcement.
