The station, founded by Mount Kenya University (MKU) founder Simon Gicharu, will broadcast a 20-minute human interest feature produced and compiled exclusively by TUKO at 8.30pm on Saturday, April 10.

Fast-rising TV station TV47 has entered a rare media and content-sharing partnership with popular online news website TUKO.

The station, founded by Mount Kenya University (MKU) founder Simon Gicharu, will broadcast a 20-minute human interest feature produced and compiled exclusively by TUKO at 8.30pm on Saturday, April 10.

The feature is part of its TUKO talks’ series and will be a regular feature at the station.

The feature revolves around Caroline Wangechi who recounts the moment she lost her left arm while on duty at a Chinese company in Juja, Kiambu County. She and her husband Felix Ochieng sat down with TUKO’s Lynn Ngugi to narrate how the unfortunate incident left her jobless and turned her life upside down.

TV47 and TUKO are Kenya’s most vibrant news companies, producing stellar content that is targeting the Kenyan youth who make up the lion’s share of the general population. The taglines “Home of Untold Stories” and “The Heartbeat of Kenya” correspond well.

“We are living in an era of media convergence, where content is king and sharing is queen,” John Mwaura, TV47 Editorial Manager stated.

“This is a mutually-beneficial partnership where the winner is the Kenyan media consumer.”

TUKO will also publish original content from TV47 on its social media pages and its website Tuko.co.ke

TV47, under Cape Media, prides itself as an uprising TV station targeting the 18-24 age bracket. It has studios in Nairobi and Mombasa, with the Mombasa studio described as one of the biggest and most advanced in the country.
