TV47 announced on Monday, October 11 that it underwent an extreme makeover to an all-new, game-changing studio.

The media house based on the fringes of the Parklands area in Nairobi unveiled its state-of-the-art studio during its 7 pm news bulletin.

Photos seen by Viral Tea revealed that the studio had ditched its traditional red colour interior and opted for a mix of blue and orange colours coupled with big screens for audio-visual presentations. The premises will also have an imposing view of Nairobi city’s skyline.

The unveiling of the studio was for purposes of preparing for an intense coverage of the 2022 General Elections, which will be its first since it was launched in 2019.

Other than that, the studio is well-equipped to handle a wide variety of TV broadcasts including news, talk shows, entertainment, and game shows.

The unveiling was carried out by its acting CEO and former news anchor Abubakar Abdullahi as well as Linda Alela, who welcomed the Kiswahili prime-time news anchor team of Joash Onsare and Andrine Kalemi. During the unveiling, they also broadcasted the list of correspondents across the country based in different counties.

Abubakar had vowed that viewers of the television station would not be treated to biases towards anyone or any story.

“Too often when others have chosen an open bias we have and will remain neutral not for anyone, not against anyone but for the truth,” he stated.

Alela then thanked the viewers for supporting them for the past two years as they were the motivating factor behind the TV station’s success.

“You have made us Kenya’s fastest-growing television channel and it’s for this reason that we are making every single bit to make sure we are bigger and better,” she noted.

TV47, under Cape Media, prides itself as an uprising TV station targeting the 18-24 age bracket. It has studios in Nairobi and Mombasa, with the Mombasa studio described as one of the biggest and most advanced in the country.

In the 18-20 age bracket, 50% watch TV47 News, and an equal percentage tune in to Morning Cafe, Destiny and So Much Love. In the 21-24 years age bracket, 33.33% watch News, Bomba La Sanaa, Morning Cafe and soap operas.

In Nairobi, 40.63% of respondents watch Morning Cafe, and this number is slightly more, at 50% in Mombasa.
