Woman Stopped From Boarding Helicopter With Matiang’i (PHOTOS & VIDEO)

Reports had indicated that the woman tried to reach out to the CS as he was about to alight from the helicopter.

Officers had to restrain a woman who breached Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i’s security on Wednesday, September 8 while attending a function in Kisii.

Photos and a video seen by Viral Tea showed the woman who sneaked through the security detail and darted towards a helicopter that had transported Matiang’i to the area.

Reports had indicated that the woman tried to reach out to the CS as he was about to alight from the helicopter.

Her actions prompted a swift response with security officers who viewed this as a breach of security and moved to restrain her.

Kisii County Commander, Francis Kooli, with the assistance of his junior officers, moved in to bar the woman from reaching the helicopter. The woman, however, battled against the four officers, insisting that she wanted to speak to the CS.

She was not too strong though, for the officers who marched her to an awaiting vehicle, after which the CS proceeded following the drama.

Matiang’i was in Kisii to lay a foundation stone at Ibacho Level Four Hospital. He then headed to Nyamira County where he launched the Igena Itambe Hospital.

The CS witnessed the kick-off of a national government project to refurbish and equip maternal and newborn units countrywide in a bid to eliminate preventable maternal and child deaths.

Incidences of security breaches upon the country’s VVIP have been on the rise, raising concerns on the integrity of the security detail assigned to guard Kenya’s most important personalities.

President Uhuru Kenyatta suffered three such scares in a matter of weeks, the last one coming on one of the country’s most important days, Madaraka Day.

A man on Tuesday, June 1 attempted to burst forward to the main pavilion at the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium, Kisumu as President Uhuru Kenyatta made his speech.

The young man was quickly nabbed by the presidential guards who pinned him to the ground and immobilized him before the head of state intervened.

Uhuru stopped his speech and instructed his security guards to let him go.
