KCSE Results To Be Released In January 2026: Govt
KCSE candidates began their oral exams in German, French, Arabic, and Kenyan Sign Language on October 21.
The Ministry of Education has confirmed that the results for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA), and the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) will be released between December 2025 and January 2026.
Education Cabinet Secretary Migos Ogamba, speaking on October 29, stated that “KJSEA and KPSEA results will be out in December 2025, while KCSE will be released in January 2026.”
Nationwide, Grade 6 learners sat their KPSEA exams between October 27 and 29, while the KJSEA exams are ongoing and will conclude on November 3, 2025.
Ogamba also addressed difficulties faced by students and exam administrators due to the ongoing rains. He noted that some officers had reported challenges accessing schools because of impassable roads and damaged bridges.
To handle such disruptions, the CS said the government has “choppers on standby and a command centre at KNEC, where when these particular officers come upon this challenge, they could call to the centre and choppers would disperse the examinations and ensure that examination papers are delivered.”
Ogamba further disclosed that the ministry is developing a new policy to incorporate drone technology into exam logistics.
“We are working on a policy right now to see how to leverage drone technology so that in the future, we could use drone technology to deliver to those particular places to reduce the chances in Kenya, because it happens every year,” he said.

Practical exams started on October 29 and will run until October 31, with written papers set to conclude on November 21, 2025.
According to the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) CEO David Njengere, a total of 996,078 students are sitting for the KCSE exams this year.
Meanwhile, over 2.4 million learners are taking part in KPSEA and KJSEA assessments—1,298,089 from Grade 6 and 1,130,669 from Grade 9.
The Ministry of Education has rolled out extensive personnel and security measures to safeguard the credibility of the national examinations.
The ministry reported that a total of 342,687 contracted professionals have been assigned to oversee the assessments and exams.
These professionals include centre managers, supervisors, invigilators, security officers, and officials from both the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Interior and National Administration.
