Tubi Bidu Mohamed Profile
Bidu Mohamed was the Member of Parliament for Isiolo South Constituency in Isiolo County, elected in August 2022 on a Jubilee Party ticket.
He began his secondary education at Isiolo Secondary School and later earned a Diploma in Wildlife from the College of African Wildlife Management, Moshi, Tanzania, between 1999 and 2001. He also obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Community Development from Gretsa University from 2015 to 2018.
Before entering national politics, Mohamed had a long career in wildlife conservation and local governance. He served in various roles including Acting Warden-in-Charge at Isiolo County Council from 1993 to 1996, Game Warden and Senior Warden, and Chief Game Warden at Isiolo Parks between 2004 and 2008.
He later worked at Maasai Mara National Reserve from 2009 to 2012 and at Samburu Park from 2012 to 2013. Mohamed also served as the inaugural Speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly from 2013 to 2017, before taking on the role of MP for Isiolo South in 2022.
As a legislator, Mohamed served on committees including the Departmental Committee on Environment, Forestry, and Mining, as well as the Public Petitions Committee.
His legislative focus drew on his previous career, emphasizing wildlife conservation, environmental management, and infrastructure development in his constituency to improve service delivery and living conditions for his community.
Mohamed’s sudden passing this evening marked the end of a rising public-service career. He is remembered by colleagues and regional leaders as a committed figure who bridged experience in conservation with governance and community development, particularly in Northern Kenya.
His death leaves a leadership gap in Isiolo South, a region where strong local representation in the national assembly was still being solidified.
