The list was released on Wednesday, November 2 by Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service, Felix Koskei and shared by State House Spokesperson, Hussein Mohamed.

President William Ruto has named the 49 nominees for the position of Principal Secretaries (PS) for appointment.

The list was released on Wednesday, November 2 by Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service, Felix Koskei and shared by State House Spokesperson, Hussein Mohamed.

Julius Korir and Teresia Mbaika have been nominated to the Office of the Deputy President. Esther Ngero and Aurelia Rono were nominated to the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary.

Raymond Omollo, Caroline Nyawira and Prof Julius Bitok were nominated to the Ministry of Interior. Patrick Mariro was nominated as the PS in the Ministry of Interior.

Belio Kipsang nominated to the Ministry of Education as a Principal Secretary. /CAPITAL GROUP

Belio Kipsang returned to the Ministry of Education and if approved, Dr Kipsang will be the PS in charge of the State Department, of Basic Education. 

"The Presidential Action is pursuant to Article 155 (3)(a) of the Constitution by dint of Executive Action, the nomination has been transmitted to the National Assembly for the consideration and approval by Parliament with the Public Appointments (Parliamentary  Approval) Act (No. 33 of 2011)," Koskei stated.

Prominent Kenyans who had earlier been shortlisted such as outgoing Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Mercy Mwangangi and Mary Wanyonyi, the wife of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chairperson, Wafula Chebukati, were left out.
