Showdown As Gladys Shollei Joins Push To Impeach Gachagua
Shollei fired a stern warning to Gachagua, vowing to mobilise momentum surrounding the impeachment motion.

A huge battle is looming in Parliament over the heat surrounding plans to impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua after Uasin Gishu Women Representative Gladys Shollei became the latest high-profile individual to push for his ouster.
Shollei, while speaking at a function in Uasin Gishu County on Monday, September 23, fired a stern warning to Gachagua, vowing to mobilise momentum surrounding the impeachment motion.
"I'll take you home myself. I am putting you Rigathi Gachagua on notice. You are going to be impeached, I can confirm that to you, today, and I shall be in charge of that impeachment myself," she fired.

The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly affirmed that she would go to great lengths to protect President William Ruto and his reputation. "Here at home, they call me the Iron Lady. So I'm telling them, don't worry, no one can touch Ruto when I am there," she added.
Her remarks are likely to intensify the turmoil that has been brewing in the Kenya Kwanza regime for quite some time. Already, a bunch of Ruto's allies are applying pressure in sheer numbers to ensure that the embattled Gachagua goes home for good.
Their push however risks igniting a civil war with the Mt Kenya region, Gachagua warning on Sunday, September 22 that President Ruto should not be embroiled in betrayal politics within the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
Speaking at a church service at Pentecostal Evangelistic Fellowship of Africa (PEFA) Church in Thika Town, Kiambu County, the DP warned his boss that he risks losing the trust of the Mt Kenya people which he argues cannot be amended if broken.
“Our people hate betrayal and they are very unforgiving if you betray them. I ask my brother not to be tempted to go in that direction because these people will be very unforgiving,” Gachagua asserted.
Earlier on Monday, Tana River Senator Danson Mungatana said he filed a censure motion against Gachagua with the office of the Speaker of the Senate - something that was disputed by Environment, Climate Change and Forestry Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale.
Duale told off Mungatana on social media, saying any censure motion against the DP can only originate from the National Assembly.
Meanwhile, the standoff between the Gachagua and Ruto factions meant that the individual former found himself in an abyss, with the relationship between him and President Ruto inching closer to being shattered to pieces.
Gachagua then boldly dared his superior, President Ruto to ensure his critics do not humiliate him, in a push for the President to put his house in order, following a series of unrelenting verbal attacks on him in recent weeks.
He further reminded the president that there was an attempt to betray him in the former regime but the people stood with him to express their displeasure of betrayal.
“I would like to request the president to put his house in order so that we can deliver for the people. And if there is a problem in a home, the father of the homestead can still down and resolve pressing issues with his family,” he said on Sunday.
