Police officers on Tuesday, February 21 arrested a 43-year-old who was alleged to have been defiling his four daughters aged 20 and 14 years at Jogoo in Kisii County.

The accused, Ondieki Nyamari, a mason, was suspected to have been defiling and threatening the minors, two weeks since he buried his wife, who passed on while giving birth in one of the local hospitals.

The irate residents wanted to lynch Nyamari over his indecent act but he was rescued by police officers.

According to the firstborn 20-year-old, her father began defiling her when she was in Class Five and raised an alarm to her mother who reported the matter at the police station. Her father was thereafter arrested and released after too much pressure from family members.

“My mum was threatened to be killed by my uncles if dad would not be released, she opted to go to the station and withdraw the case, “she stated.

“She would go the extra mile, and uncover us, when we ask him what he is doing, he claims that he was setting an alarm for us."

She added that before her mother passed on, they called upon the family members to solve the case, but her father remained adamant on the matter.

The daughter asked the government for protection and to ensure that justice prevailed upon them.

“We are fearing for our lives, what might happen when we go back home, please government assist me," she added, further lamenting that they do not have anywhere to lean on since their mother passed on and left a young sibling who is under treatment at Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Her aunt, Fellistus Kwamboka, revealed that the minor revealed that her father had been defiling her and threatening her if she said a word about it, adding that Nyamari has been fond of committing the act on the minors.

Confirming the incident, Kisii County OCPD Amos Ambasa stated that they have arrested the suspect and taken him into police custody awaiting to be arraigned in court to face charges once they complete the investigation.

Ambasa further corroborated Kwamboka's reports that Nyamari has been defiling his daughters, revisiting an incident of the sort on Sunday, February 19 where he tried to defile them when they sought refuge from their aunt.

The minors raised an alarm which alerted members of the public who turned against them.

Ambasa added that they received a report from the area chief about the matter and rushed to the scene where they rescued the suspect from the agitated residents who wanted to lynch him.

He further revealed that the minor has been taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital for further medication and examination.
