“Thrilled to announce my collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy Thailand in Kenya on a journey of food diplomacy and cultural exchange.

"Looking forward to exploring the rich tapestry of Thai cuisine and culture, fostering connections that transcend borders,” Ombachi stated.

On November 23, 2023, Ombachi landed a lucrative deal with the Chinese Embassy in Kenya in a partnership focusing on food diplomacy involving cultural exchange, culinary partnerships and joint initiatives.

It was also aimed at promoting global understanding through shared gastronomic experiences.

"Meet Chinese Chef Lui Longfei who we shall be partnering together building up to the Chinese Food Extravaganza happening on the 2nd of December at the Panari Hotel," the self-taught chef remarked in a statement.

In both cases, his followers have been lauding him for his big win and currently going international in his cooking collaborations.

Ombachi got his nickname 'Roaming Chef' after moving from house to house cooking for clients just before COVID-19 hit in 2020.

"I learned a lot and made some amazing connections. COVID made me start selling chilli sauces and introduced me to content creation from the balcony and I have never looked back.

"Not sure what the future holds for me but I am just getting started and I wanna thank you all for the endless support through the years,” he revealed in a past interview.

Ombachi’s food passion was ignited during his time as a professional rugby player, touring approximately 18 countries each year as part of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series circuit.

This experience exposed him to diverse cultures, languages and cuisines- serving as a wellspring of inspiration for his culinary journey.

He now partners with several food brands in content creation and has gone on to win awards such as Sub-Saharan Africa’s premier TikTok content creator of the year in January 2023.

Ombachi has cooked a variety of sumptuous dishes which he showcases on social media, as well as the process behind them which mostly involves rough handling of ingredients in a manly fashion which also includes how he handles meat and chicken products.

Ombachi competed for Kenya 7s at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, Brazil. He also was a member of the squad that competed at the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Russia.
