It is set to take place on Monday, May 12 in Nakuru and will gather young leaders from Narok, Kajiado, Bomet, Kericho, Nakuru, Laikipia, Samburu, and Baringo.

The Kenya Young Members of County Assemblies (KYMCA), teaming up with young leaders from the South Rift, are driving a bold new project to groom future political changemakers.
Led by Hassan Duale—a flashy, high-energy MCA from Nakuru—the Youth Bunge project is a mock parliamentary session designed specifically for youth.
It is set to take place on Monday, May 12 in Nakuru and will gather young leaders from Narok, Kajiado, Bomet, Kericho, Nakuru, Laikipia, Samburu, and Baringo.
Duale expressed his excitement about Nakuru hosting the event, pointing out that it is the county's first time hosting a youth-run parliamentary simulation.

"I'm part of the Kenya Young Members of County Assemblies (KYMCA), and I am so glad to host my colleagues in Nakuru for the Youth Bunge.
"It will be a chance for youth leaders to gain firsthand experience in governance. It also unites the youth and encourages them to aspire for leadership positions because we want to see more young people contesting in 2027," Duale said.
At Youth Bunge, participants will choose their speaker, majority whip, and other key leadership roles—mirroring the setup of real county assemblies. They'll dive into debates on pressing youth issues and walk through the legislative process with a high level of realism and professionalism.
Duale says the event has two main goals: to build leadership skills in young people and to get them more politically engaged as the 2027 General Election approaches.
“We want young people to experience the decision-making process and understand that leadership is not just about titles. It’s about responsibility, service, and unity,” he added.
The initiative also aims to close the gap between ambitious young leaders and the real-world demands of public service, offering a space to learn, connect, and push each other to grow.
Duale highlighted the importance of Nakuru being the host for this milestone youth-focused event, saying “It’s historic. Nakuru has always been a political powerhouse, and now we are giving our young people a front-row seat to understand and participate in leadership at a meaningful level.”
With the 2027 General Election fast approaching, Youth Bunge is being positioned as a springboard for rising youth leaders in the region. It also delivers a clear statement—young people are stepping up and ready to lead.
