Content creator and rapper Diana Marua (Diana B) was on Friday, April 14 unveiled as the new host of a reality television show, her first-ever foray into the silver screen.

The mother of three secured the new television job whereby she will host a popular dating show titled 'Hello Mr Right' which is returning for a third season.

Marua, who is married to singer Kevin Bahati, will host the show alongside comedian Dr Ofweneke and marriage counsellor Getrude Mungai.

She was unveiled as the new host in a star-studded event attended by celebrities including musician Guardian Angel, and comedians such as Blessed Njugush, Eddie Butita, Sandra Dacha and Akuku Danger among others.

“I am very humbled to be unveiled today as the co-host for the Mr Right show and I would like to promise my supporters that this would be bigger and better compared to seasons one and two.

"I'm excited about this new role, and I promise to bring my A-game to the show. Hello, Mr Right is a great platform that helps people find love, and I'm honoured to be part of it." Diana described the goal of the show.

Dr Ofweneke, who has been part of the show since the first season, on his part expressed joy at the success of the previous episodes and promised to offer his best.

This represents Marua's biggest deal ever since she gave birth to her third child, whom she and Bahati named Malaika on November 2, 2022.

The new role as Mr Right host now means that the Nakulombotov hitmaker is officially back from her maternity leave as she will be required to show up at work for her new job. She has in the past graced TV screens in a reality show aired by NTV.

The announcement came days after she and Bahati were welcomed to the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party led by President William Ruto among the likes of MC Jessy, KRG The Don, Diana Marua, DJ Kwenye Beat, Sammy Boy, Mash Mwana, and Dufla Diligon among other musicians and entertainers who joined as well.

"Secretary General, Hon. Cleo Malalah this morning welcomed to the Party new members led by Former Mathare Constituency, Jubilee aspirant, Kevin Kioko, alias Bahati Kenya, Ruffton, Krg, MC Jessy and other notable artistes from the Kenyan entertainment industry," UDA stated in part.

Malala assured the newcomers of the party’s commitment to ensuring that the government supports the entertainment industry so that young people are dignified.

He added that the party would also support celebrities with the ambition to become leaders, by mentoring and nurturing them.

"UDA has its doors open to Kenyan youths from all walks of life, and pledges to walk its talk on matters of youth empowerment in the country." Malala opined during a press briefing.

On his part, Bahati expressed his delight in defecting from the Azimio la Umoja coalition to join UDA, eight months after losing the Mathare parliamentary race in the 2022 elections which he vied for under the Jubilee Party ticket.
