Akothee Opens Up On Dumping Husband Omosh After Honeymoon

Popular Kenya musician Esther Akoth alias Akothee has revealed that her road to parting ways with her husband Denis ‘Omosh’ Schweizer started right after her honeymoon.

She penned a message to firebrand lawyer, Miguna Miguna via a Facebook post on Thursday, November 2, apologising to him for ignoring his warning on marrying the Swiss national.

The Give It To Me hitmaker further restated the famous advice that one cannot advise three people in life: a woman in love, a woman willing to settle down and a woman in need of a family.

Akothee went on to narrate that she met Schweizer when she was ready to settle down, given that she felt she was lonely.

"After God and Women, Fear Miguna. Sorry for being rude bro I was in love. I meant well.

"Denis Found me at the time I was ready to settle down and he gave me the Love, attention and company that I needed then,  life as a superstar can be very lonely, I had no support from family or friends. On several occasions, I have felt like selling everything and going to hide somewhere no one would find me," she narrated.

According to the celebrity, Schweizer was her version of a perfect match, so much so that she ignored the red flags that would surface the minute their relationship shook entertainment platforms countrywide.

"I can say I ignored all the red flags, I convinced myself that this particular one was the right one for me. I was and still is innocent.

"I have forgiven myself for being naive, honest and stupid but that doesn't define me as a person. I win in most cases, I lost in this one and it's okay," she added.

After her realisation, Akothee disclosed that she was unable to force matters regarding love, given the lessons she has since learnt, a matter which triggered her to commence her road to exiting their marriage.

This was despite making headlines on Monday, April 10 owing to her glamourous wedding to Schweizer which was attended by government officials among others Public Service and Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa, Kisumu First Lady Dorothy Nyong’o, Migori First Lady Agnes Ayacko, EALA MP Suleiman Shahbal, Langata MP Felix Odiwuor (Jalang'o) and former EACC chairperson Professor PLO Lumumba.

"I started my exit plan after my honeymoon, I don't know how to force love issues especially, after knowing what I know now," she disclosed.

"If I continued with the narrative of staying in this marriage after all that I know now, my life would have been shorter than the shortest verse in the bible. I had to protect myself and my sanity the rest is history. It is well."

Akothee has since revealed that she fully recovered and that she is doing okay, reiterating her brotherly love for Miguna.

The lawyer a month ago challenged Akothee to explain to him the details of Omosh after questions emerged regarding his little-known background.

"I had a chance to tell Esther Akothe (Akothee) that whether she was upset with me or not, she must explain to me, her Big Brother, who Omosh ja Switzerland is and what his true background is. Let X break today!" he stated.

However, Akothee in October 2022 revealed that he was an investor and a philanthropist, not going into further details of the matter regarding the man she tied the knot with in an invite-only ceremony at Windsor Hotel in Nairobi.

Schweizer was born and raised in Switzerland, in the capital city of Bern in 1988, with Akothee disputing claims on social media that he is a Pakistan national, and that his mother is a single mother just like her.

The mother of five went on to disclose that she nicknamed her ex-husband Omosh to protect him from online space, as she was getting ready to introduce him to her fans.
