Gachagua Reveals 6 Positions Candidates From His Incoming Party Will Vie For In 2027
Gachagua affirmed that he would launch the party in May and would be led mainly by members chosen by Kenyans.

Ahead of the highly anticipated launch of his political party, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has announced plans for it to produce a candidate for key positions in the 2027 general elections, including the presidency.
Speaking in Kajiado County on Thursday, March 27, Gachagua affirmed that he would launch the party in May and would be led mainly by members chosen by Kenyans.
While announcing that the national chairperson of his party will come from Kajiado, Gachagua promised that the party would field candidates for all the available electoral seats, right down to the Member of County Assembly (MCA).
“We have decided to form our political party, and the party will be led by people from Kajiado. The party would be announced in the fifth month of this year,” the former DP said.

“The party will field candidates in all the political seats, from the President, Governor, MP, Women Rep, even for MCA.”
Gachagua initially postponed announcing his new political vehicle in early February, telling vernacular TV and radio stations during a February 9 interview that strategic reasons were preventing him from launching it on time, despite assuring that the party was ready to go.
He, however, revealed that a ceremony would be in place to launch the party, set to be held in Nairobi in that month of May, at an exact date yet to be announced.
"For strategic reasons, I’ll not announce the name of the party today, but the party is ready, and it is a good party with a good Constitution. Everything is done and that is what is remaining, but we shall launch the party in a colourful ceremony in Nairobi at a venue to be announced, so that we can all come together from the whole country…from there, it is all systems go," he announced.
Gachagua is set to launch the new party in May 2025 and set up offices nationwide. He remarked at the time that most communities are on board, with final consultations ongoing, including significant input from Gen Z.
He has been welcoming leaders from various regions to his residence in Wamunyoro, Nyeri County, stating that he is seeking their perspectives and ideas on the country's future direction. However, overwhelming feedback has led to setbacks in terms of providing a concrete way forward; a matter which has been continuing and will continue until the date the party will be launched.
During the Kajiado address, meanwhile, Gachagua criticised President William Ruto again, calling him out for lying to Kenyans day in day out with his promises.
The former Deputy President claimed that, like many other Kenyans, President Ruto misled him into backing and voting for the current administration. Gachagua thus vowed to unite Kenyans in an effort to push for Ruto’s removal from office.
“I urge you to forgive me. The guy also deceived me; he came as a Christian, with a Bible, only for me to realise he was a wolf clothed as a sheep,” Gachagua commented.
Adding “He deceived us, and now the country is full of lies. He lied that he would give us money, yet he came back and took the little we had from us."
