The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) on Tuesday, September 27 released photos of the refurbished Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) Terminals 1B and 1C as its official launch draws closer.
The two terminals revamped at a cost of Ksh963 million feature an array of state-of-the-art features that include security features, modernised self-check-in points and a brand new look and feel to rival some of the world's biggest airports.

"Thank you for being patient with us, we are almost there. A sneak peek of JKIA’s Terminals 1B&C currently being refurbished," the authority stated.
KAA had kicked off renovations of the terminals in January 2021 which were estimated to take 12 months.
However, the launch was delayed owing to the addition of some aspects, replacement of some systems and the destruction of two bridges that had connected two terminals to the old international terminals.
The Central building was destroyed in a massive fire in August 2013 which forced a major disruption and diversion of flights to Uganda, Tanzania, and other airports in the country.
"Once completed, the newly renovated light-filled departure terminals will deliver modern concessions and amenities that will give travellers a friendly and memorable experience.
"It will also ease passenger flow and increase efficiency due to the centralization of security screening procedures and the reallocation of available floor spaces to international departure gates," KAA stated then.
Other airlines that were migrated include UNHAS, Egypt Air, Air Uganda, Air Arabia, and Air Mozambique.
