KTN News, under the Standard Media Group (SMG), has been hit with another big loss after one of its senior anchors, Aby Agina, resigned to take up a bigger job at another media house.

The former Deputy Group Economics Affairs Editor and business anchor joined the multinational station, CNBC Africa and will be based in Rwanda.

The station's Rwanda country manager, Eugene Anangwe - the former CEO of TV47 and founder of Look Up TV, shared the news while welcoming Agina warmly at the outlet's East African headquarters studios.

He will serve as a senior anchor and producer at CNBC Africa, having just joined the station.

Agina joined the Daily Nation as an intern in 2010 fresh from clearing his undergraduate studies in Information Science at Moi University Eldoret, where he majored in Media and Publishing Studies.

His departure comes as SMG is fighting to stay afloat financially amidst some of its top talents leaving for greener pastures. On Friday, September 30, it announced that it plans to fire staff en masse across all its departments.
