Four suspects who were linked to a daring robbery on a vehicle carrying a group of tourists, which was caught on camera, were arrested on Wednesday, October 12.

The National Police Service (NPS) stated that the suspects cornered the tourists who were on a game drive at the Buffalo Springs Natural Swimming Pool in Isiolo County.

"Police have arrested four suspected robbers believed to be part of the group who attacked and robbed tourists of their valuables at a game drive within Buffalo Springs Natural Swimming Pool in Isiolo County. The incident was captured on camera, whose clip has since gone viral. 

"Following leads, police caught up with them at Arches Post Merti Junction, Samburu East as they were fleeing," the NPS stated in part.

On further investigations, the police recovered one Camera, make Panasonic Lumix.

The suspects are under police custody helping with investigations and are to be arraigned in court on Thursday, October 13 on charges of robbery with violence.

"Other accomplices at large, are still being pursued. The National police service is appealing to members of the public to volunteer any Information that may lead to the rest of those who are on the run," the NPS appealed to members of the public.

The clip saw one of the victims pleading with the robbers to spare the tourists as they were ransacking the vehicle.

A voice could be heard in the midst asking them to leave at least Ksh2,000 as miscellaneous for their game drive operations.

One of the robbers confessed that they attacked the vehicle because they were searching for money and did not intend to harm the individuals.

Samburu is one of the areas that has been affected by bandit attacks that have claimed the lives of its residents.

President William Ruto had on Sunday, September 25 ordered security agencies to go after the culprits behind the Turkana massacre that left 11 people dead, including police officers.

"After receiving a comprehensive report on the Turkana/Pokot incident that led to 10 security/administration officers losing their lives, I have instructed security agencies to deal firmly, decisively and conclusively with those involved. Cattle rustling will stop na sio tafadhali," Ruto stated.
