LIST: Gachagua Names Linturi, Malala As Officials For New 'DCP' Party
Gachagua named Linturi as the National Organising Secretary.

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has named former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi to the leadership of his new party, the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP). This is just hours after Linturi penned his resignation letter announcing that he was quitting the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
Speaking on Thursday, May 15, during the launch of the party in Lavington, Nairobi, Gachagua named Linturi as the National Organising Secretary.
Forming the party structure, Gachagua also named former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala as the interim Deputy Party Leader, a step up from his previous role as Secretary General of UDA. Gachagua will head the party.
In other leadership announcements, former Laikipia Woman Representative Cate Waruguru has been named as the National Women Leader.

"I made a promise to you that in the month of May, I would unveil a new political party whose philosophy resonates with you. As you all know, I'm a truthful and honest man; I keep my promises," Gachagua stated at the launch, adding, "We finally have a political party that belongs to all of us, where every Kenyan is treated equally."
Framing DCP as a people-centred political movement, Gachagua emphasised the party’s central value: authentic and continuous dialogue between leaders and the public.
He also assured that under the party’s leadership, no Kenyan would ever feel neglected or excluded.
"As a party, we believe every Kenyan should be listened to by their leaders. This listening must not just be listening for the sake of it; it must be deliberate, planned, have a purpose, and it must be sustainable.
