John Maina, famously known as MC Fullstop, who is a K24 TV and NRG Radio host, shocked Kenyans online on Wednesday, March 29 by revealing that he was surviving on one lung.

The renowned reggae emcee revealed through his social media handles that his left lung collapsed due to tuberculosis (TB).

Other than affecting his day-to-day activities, he added that the disease also affected his ability to speak.

"This one is gone literally, my left lung has totally collapsed leaving me with one lung remaining, in 2021 I was diagnosed with TB in my lungs which resulted in complete lung failure, and in 2022 I was also diagnosed with TB in my throat, which has caused problems with my voice, running, walking, and speaking," he wrote in part.

MC Fullstop further explained that the lungs cannot regenerate, unlike other organs such as the liver.

This meant that his condition was irreversible and that he would have to retire from the entertainment industry.

"Lungs unlike the liver cannot regenerate, the lungs do not have the same capability and I will have to adjust to the situation, and I see myself hanging boots. I want to thank those that have supported me in these difficult times God bless you," he went on.

Samuel Muraya, a former DJ attached to NTV led Kenyans in sharing messages of support to MC Fullstop.

"You are a legend and one of the baddest in 254 and for sure brother God heals. Keep praying and trusting him in this whole process," DJ Mo wrote.

Citizen TV's Talia Oyando also wished the MC a quick recovery.

"Sending you positive energy and love bro. Keep fighting you got this," Oyando wrote.

Others such as Shaffie Weru, Janet Machuka, Dan Aceda sent him messages wishing him a speedy recovery as his post on Twitter was viewed by almost 500,000 users, seven hours since it was posted.
