Media personality and life coach, Muthoni wa Mukiri, who was previously a news anchor at Inooro TV, is expecting her first child.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, January 19, the talented content creator showcased her baby bump in an exquisite photoshoot, wearing a long, glittering dress that accentuated her curves.

While describing the pregnancy as a blessing, Mukiri went on to wish all expectant mothers and those hoping for a child the very best.

"Blessings upon blessings. Baby loading.

"For those on a similar journey or hoping to get on the same journey, May God protect and guide you. Have a blessed day ahead," she wrote.

She however did not disclose the gender of the incoming newborn, nor did she reveal the due date.

Mukiri, who turns 34 years old on January 25, tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend and fiancé Isaac Ng’ang’a at an event that took place at the Windsor Country Club Golf Course grounds on November 2021. They marked their wedding anniversary on November 2022.

"Awwww, can't believe it's 12 months already. God has been faithful. It's been an amazing first year with My ride or die," she stated.

The two met in 2020. During a Q&A session on her YouTube channel, she revealed that she met Isaac at a chama party that comedienne Teacher Wanjiku had invited her to.

“Isaac was seated at the end of the round table under the shade of a tree and I didn’t think much of him. He was there playing cool and we were having a good time."

“Eventually, Isaac came over to where I was and told me I had a beautiful smile and had been watching me from the far end and the rest is history, now we are getting married," she explained.

Isaac has continually maintained a low profile and only came to the limelight after his engagement with Mukiri. The two haven't showcased their relationship on social media since their wedding.

The media personality became the second major celebrity to announce her pregnancy in 2023 after former socialite cum entrepreneur Amber Ray, who is expecting her child with businessman Kennedy Rapudo.

A report from the Kenya Demographic and Health Survey (KDHS) 2022 released by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) on Tuesday, January 17 revealed that Kenya's fertility rate declined to 3.4 per cent in 2022 down from 3.9 per cent recorded in 2014. It has been on a steady decline over time from an average of 6.7 children per family in 1989 to the current 3.4.

The survey also revealed that women between the ages of 20 to 24 have the highest fertility rate in Kenya, a number established after observing the number of births per every 1,000 women in different parts of the nation. In that age bracket, fertility peaks at 179 births per every 1,000 women. The total fertility rate is higher in the rural areas with 219 births and decreases in the urban areas at 138 births among every 1,000 women.

Following behind is women between the ages of 25 to 28 showing a total of 172 births in every 1,000 women. Of these 200 are in the rural areas while 143 are in the urban populace, a rate that decreases past the age of 28.
