More than 500 top financiers, policymakers, and innovators are expected to gather in Nairobi this December for the Africa Investment Conference (AfIC) 2025, a major continental forum focused on driving African development through African capital.

The two-day event, set for December 10–11, 2025, will be hosted by CFA Society East Africa in partnership with CFA Institute and several regional chapters, including CFA Societies in South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt, Ghana, and Mauritius.

Under the theme “Africa Investing in Africa: Solutions to Challenges,” the summit will tackle some of the continent’s biggest economic hurdles — from breaking barriers to intra-African capital flows, to scaling homegrown infrastructure and innovation models, to strengthening alliances between African nations.

“With AfCFTA unlocking a single market of 1.3 billion people, this is Africa’s moment to turn policy into prosperity,” said Francis Nasyomba, CFA, President of CFA Society East Africa.

Nasyomba noted that African countries are increasingly proving that sustainable growth can be driven from within.

“Africa is no longer looking outward for answers. The solutions we need already exist within the continent,” he said. “Ethiopia has mobilized domestic capital to expand infrastructure."

"Rwanda has leapfrogged through innovation and partnerships. Egypt has built capacity through strong sovereign wealth strategies. The success stories are real — what we need now is to replicate and scale these models across Africa.”

The conference will bring together leaders from sovereign wealth funds, development finance institutions (DFIs), pension funds, capital markets authorities, and investment promotion agencies, alongside tech disruptors shaping Africa’s next investment wave.

Panel discussions and case studies will explore how Africa can close its internal investment gap, with only 16% of investments in Africa currently coming from within the continent.

AfIC 2025 will also spotlight sustainable finance, from green bonds and carbon markets to gender-focused investment strategies.

“As ESG standards take center stage globally, Africa must strike a balance between responsible investing and inclusive development,” Nasyomba added. “We want to highlight the innovators proving that sustainability and growth can go hand in hand.”

More than just another financial summit, AfIC 2025 is positioning itself as a continental call to action — a space where African-led ideas, African capital, and African alliances converge to rewrite the continent’s investment story.

By pushing for homegrown, scalable solutions, the Nairobi conference is expected to set the tone for a new era of self-driven, collaborative African prosperity.
