The Nation Media Group (NMG) on Wednesday, April 5 raided its own TV station, NTV for former Lit360 host Mariam Bishar.

Bishar, who is a panellist for NTV's The Trend weekly show, is now the new host of Nation FM's 'The Morning Fix' breakfast show running every weekday from 6 am to 10 am.

She will be partnered with David Oyuke, who previously hosted alongside seasoned media personality Monique Bett.

"Her vast experience dates back to the great debaters' contest (a program that nurtured students’ prowess and confidence in debating).

"Mariam has since been an epitome of inspiration among her peers. Hosting the Morning Fix was beyond her imagination," the station explained in part.

Nation FM went on to describe Bishar's new role as her own and built a fanbase which was evident from the various calls live on air acknowledging her presence, to netizens recognizing her.

The Morning Fix is the best thing to happen to my mornings since I discovered avocado toast. I’m loving sharing vibes with our listeners and feeding off their energy,” she stated.

The talented host has been a familiar face on the Kenyan media scene, having previously been part of the panel on The Trend alongside Daddie Marto and Nick Kwach.

She will now be expected to bring a new perspective to the show, which aims to provide listeners with news, current affairs, and entertainment. Her addition is part of Nation FM's ongoing efforts to provide its listeners with the best possible content.

Nation FM has witnessed several changes in terms of its morning show, mainly touching on presenters. Some of them who have graced the airwaves on the most popular time to listen to radio include Cate Rira, comedian Dr King'ori and Tina Kaggia, who had taken a break from radio for nearly four years after leaving Classic 105.

Kaggia left the show in June 2022, with David Oyuke and Monique Bett taking over as hosts before Bishar's entry.

Rira on Tuesday, February 7 made her media comeback in form of her own podcast dubbed The Point Of View (POV), which was released on her birthday (Saturday, February 4). She has since hosted the likes of Prezzo, Dr Ofweneke, DNA and former presidential running mate, Justina Wamae.

"The POV podcast will host different personas and give a 360 view of social, political and economical issues," she told Viral Tea.
