Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has said that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is still his brother.

The fourth president of Kenya wished his handshake partner a Happy 78th Birthday in a statement on Saturday, January 7.

He wished Raila blessings as he celebrates his special day and in the many years to follow.

"I would like to take this opportunity in the new year, to wish my brother and friend Hon. Raila Odinga a Happy Birthday.

"May God's blessings and favour be upon you today and in the years to come," Uhuru stated.

Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua also shared her birthday message to Raila, praising him as the captain of the Azimio la Umoja coalition and a leader that is capable of transforming Kenya.

"Happy birthday Raila Odinga - captain of Azimio and Kenya’s foremost transformational leader. May you enjoy many happy returns," she wrote.

Former nominated senator Milicent Omanga also joined Kenyans in wishing Raila a Happy Birthday. He was born on January 7, 1945.

The politician who is allied to President William Ruto termed Raila as an enigma, despite political differences between them.

Without your frequent nudges, this country would be worse. Thank you for being selfless Baba. To many more!" wrote Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai.

"Wishing you good health.May Allah give you a successful year ahead," Suna East Member of Parliament and Raila's ally, Junet Mohamed wrote.

Today, January 7, happens to be one of those rare days that Raila shares a birthday with a series of public personalities. Citizen TV news anchor Jeff Koinange, former Citizen TV's Julie Gichuru, Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga and Thirdway Alliance Secretary General Fred Okang'o all have their birthdays on that date.

They are joined by international celebrities such as motorsport legend Lewis Hamilton, actor Nicholas Cage as well as former Chelsea and current Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard.

Also included are EDM DJ Hardwell, actor Jeremy Renner, middle-distance runner Caster Semenya and Blue Ivy Carter, the first-born daughter of musicians Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
