The planned public viewing of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has been shifted from Parliament Buildings to Kasarani Stadium.

These changes were made after massive crowds turned up to accompany Raila’s body from JKIA, while thousands of others gathered outside Parliament.
A local security firm issued a general advisory, urging crowds at Parliament to head back to Kasarani Stadium.

"Expect traffic congestion along Thika Road and adjoining routes leading to Kasarani," the advisory obtained by Viral Tea stated.
"Due to the surge in the number of mourners, the viewing of the body of HE Raila Amolo Odinga has been moved from the Parliament Buildings to Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani," the statement by ODM read in part.
"Members of the public are advised to proceed to Kasarani, where there shall be enough space and time to view the body."
The planned public viewing of Raila Odinga’s body in Kisumu on Saturday, October 18, has been shifted from Moi Stadium to Mamboleo Showground.
The announcement also indicated that further adjustments to the funeral schedule are expected.
Earlier in the day, when Raila’s body arrived at JKIA from Mumbai, India, members of the public broke through the VIP section, preventing President William Ruto from conducting the official reception.
The procession, which was supposed to reach Parliament by noon, was delayed after thousands of Kenyans flooded the airport to witness the arrival.
On Friday, October 17, the government will accord the late statesman a state funeral at Nyayo Stadium — a day that has already been declared a public holiday.
The following day, Raila’s body will be flown to Kisumu for public viewing at Mamboleo Showground, before his final burial at his Bondo home on Sunday.
