In a statement on Monday, September 16, Kibbett appreciated her followers for their unwavering support in terms of voting for her online.

"On 22nd April, I was honoured to be nominated for the 2024 MVAA Awards in Nigeria. Although I couldn’t be there in person, I’m overjoyed to announce that on Saturday, I was named the Female TV Personality of The Year!" she announced.

"This award isn’t just mine, it belongs to every single one of you who took the time to vote, shared the link, and supported me without hesitation. I truly wouldn’t be here without your love and belief in me. I’m deeply humbled by your unwavering support, and I feel so blessed to have such an incredible community behind me."

Kibbett however noted that the latest achievement was a sign of more positive things to come. "God is not yet done with me, and I can’t wait to see what’s next. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. This victory is ours," she added.

There is no doubt that the star of the popular sports journalist and media personality is continuing to shine brighter. Already, she has bagged awards not just in Nigeria but also in South Africa and Zambia, etching her status as an award-winning media personality in the country.

The MVAA Award winners also saw Kenyan representation, with Kiss FM's Kerry Martin taking home the award of best radio personality in East and Southern Africa and Rae Kiragu of Soundcity Radio winning the best MVAA female radio personality of the year 2024.

Kibbett's award came a day after she officially made her debut on Friday, September 13 alongside John Kago on the 9 pm news, replacing Shiksha Arora who made a popular switch to TV47 owned by Cape Media Limited.

She boasts a colourful career that includes interviews with sports personalities such as United States sprinter Justin Gatlin, South African footballer Siphiwe Tshabalala and Kenyan javelin star Julius Yego.

She has been at KBC since August 2021, having first made a name for herself at K24 TV and earning the nickname 'Marakwet Express'.
