Isaac Ruto Airlifted To Nairobi For Medical Treatment

Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, who is the Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) Party leader, has been airlifted to Nairobi for treatment after falling ill.

In a statement, the party’s secretary general Albert Koech revealed that Ruto fell sick and was airlifted from his Bomet home to Nairobi Hospital by the AMREF Flying Doctors.

Koech added that the ex-county boss was suffering from acute flu which prompted him to be evacuated for medical attention.

However, a doctor's report indicated that he was almost out of danger and is expected to be discharged today.

"I wish to notify the members of the public, that Isaac Kiprono Ruto fell ill on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, and was airlifted to Nairobi Hospital by Amref Flying Doctors.

"Isaac Ruto had been unwell for the past one week due to acute flu which necessitated immediate evacuation from Bomet for thorough medical attention. The doctor's report indicates that he is on a road to recovery and we expect him to be discharged anytime from today," Koech stated.

He added that Ruto expressed regret at not being with his supporters during the vote tallying process, which is ongoing.

"He regrets that he is not able to be with his supporters during this crucial moment of vote counting.

"He wishes to assure them that he will be back soon. He wishes to thank his family and supporters for their moral support and in a special way thank Amref Flying Doctors for their prompt evacuation response," he added.

Bomet Governor Hillary Barchock has since wished Isaac Ruto a speedy recovery.

"Wishing Hon Isaac Ruto a quick recovery. May God's healing be your portion. See you soon big brother," he stated.
