The Jubilee Party has moved the location of its headquarters from Pangani along Thika Road in Nairobi.

In a statement released on Wednesday, February 1, Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni revealed that the former ruling party would have its new offices off Mandera Road in the Kileleshwa area.

Kioni indicated that the party would focus on revamping itself and recruiting more members in order to grow the next generation of party leaders.

"The Jubilee Party Headquarters has been relocated to a new address within the Kileleshwa area, off Mandera Road.

"Our focus will be on strengthening our county, constituency and ward offices and recruiting more members as we mould and nurture the next generation of Jubilee Leaders," read the statement in part.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta's party however did not disclose which building, in particular, it was moving to.

The Pangani headquarters was on August 29, 2022, put up for auction in what was viewed as a massive blow to the lifespan of the party, coming in the middle of the election season.

Garam Investments Auctioneers announced that it was auctioning the seven-storey building located in the Pangani area, an exercise which took place on September 11, 2022.

"All that parcel of land known as LR no 209/1530 Emani Business Centre along Thika Road, Pangani area registered under Farmer Industry Limited, with a plinth area of 34,000 square feet.

"Bidders will be required to produce a bidding deposit of Ksh5 million by way of cash or bankers cheque before being allowed to bid," the notice read in part.

The building boasted two basement floors, a penthouse on the rooftop, a sentry house and a powerhouse.

In its basement, it featured parking bays, a water pump store, a concrete water tank, and a lift/staircase lobby. The ground floor level had an entrance lobby, main reception, and lift staircase lobby as well as spaces for offices, a cafeteria with a kitchen and a kitchenette.

The rest of the six floors featured office spaces as well as conference rooms.

The building was first acquired by former President Uhuru and his deputy, William Ruto (now President), on the road to eventually winning the 2013 general elections.

It had been used as the party's national tallying centre in the 2013 and 2017 general elections before a fallout emerged between the two leaders in 2018, following Uhuru's handshake with former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga.

The Jubilee party allegedly paid Ksh90 million in annual rent for its Pangani headquarters in 2018, according to Caleb Kositany, the party's vice secretary at the time.
