Celebrated radio presenter Michelle Kamene Goro on Wednesday, June 7 marked her radio comeback with her new show on a radio station dubbed Mo Radio.

Kamene revealed in an Instagram post that she will host her new show titled, The Rush Hour, from 2 pm to 6 pm every weekday.

"Allow me to drive you home today with good vibes on MoRadio," read her statement announcing her debut at the station.

Mo Radio is based in Mombasa and operates under the tagline 'We're in charge'. It added the former Kiss FM presenter to its lineup of radio hosts following her departure from the Radio Africa Group-based station in Nairobi.

"New voice, listen in (hashtag) MoRush with Kamene Goro. Enjoy," stated Mo Radio.

Her announcement was celebrated by her loyal fans who were happy to see her back since her exit from Kiss FM in January.

Mo Radio prides itself as a station that plays the best variety of hits from 60 years and "we believe that's it’s long overdue. It’s a radio station that plays great music all day long."

In April, Kamene and radio presenter Shaffie Weru co-hosted the NRG Transit show at NRG Radio as guests.

The duo was joined by DJ Pierra Makena for the four-hour show from 3 to 7 pm, as part of an ensemble lineup of presenters, Viral Tea learnt, brought on board as guests to mark its fifth anniversary.

Kamene, a lawyer by training, joined the media industry as a news anchor and presenter at Ebru TV but left the station in 2017 for NRG as a presenter alongside Andrew Kibe.

The two then left the station in 2019 following Kamene's protracted battle with her previous employer, NRG Radio, which had filed a court case preventing her from taking up the Kiss FM job before the lapse of the non-compete period in the contract she had signed.

She, alongside Kibe, would join the station together, having shot to fame at NRG, before Kibe left in 2020. She continued hosting the Kiss breakfast show until Kibe was replaced by Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor, alias Jalang’o later that same year.

Jalang'o would later step down in 2022 to focus on his political ambitions, leaving her with her immediate former co-host, Oga Obinna, who stood by her until she was replaced by Sheila Kwamboka alias Kwambox.

Kamene has become a household name in Kenya due to her sharp wit, humour, and candid approach to discussing various topics on her show.

She is known for her fearless attitude toward tackling sensitive and controversial issues, which has earned her a large following among Kenyan youth.
