Ex-KTN Anchor Joins BBC After Working At TV47 For 4 Months
The journalist revealed that he left TV47 for a stint at BBC Swahili, part of the British state broadcaster's World Service division.
Former KTN News sports anchor Ahmed Bahajj has joined the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) after he worked at TV47 for four months.
In a statement on Wednesday, November 8, the journalist revealed that he left TV47 for a stint at BBC Swahili, part of the British state broadcaster's World Service division.
"I didn't get tired of clapping for my colleagues when they succeed, today it's my turn, the dream has come true. I have officially joined the international broadcasting house BBC Dira ya Dunia Swahili," he announced in part.

Bahajj expressed gratitude for the new opportunity, showcasing it as proof that the youth can achieve their dreams if they believe that they can.
He thanked his followers for playing an integral role in getting him to his new opportunity, viewed by many as a stepping stone to the pinnacles of international journalism.
"I thank God for every grace you give me. I am a testimony to all young people from the streets that nothing is impossible, believe in yourself and you will succeed.
"Without you, the fans, it would have been difficult to get here. Thank you for your support, this victory belongs to all of us," he continued.
Various fellow journalists including his former colleague, Ali Manzu, penned congratulatory messages to Bahajj following his newfound role.
The sports anchor joined TV47 in June before the TV station's rebranding and launch of its new studios in Muthaiga. He also served as the Swahili Sports editor during the four months.
At Standard Group Limited, Bahajj, the once-renowned KTN News reporter, concluded his remarkable tenure of four years and six months at the Mombasa Road-based media house.
During his tenure, he made a significant impact as the host of the popular sports show, 'Zalazala Viwanjani.' Reflecting on his journey, Bahajj acknowledged the platform that KTN News provided, allowing him to connect with a large and dedicated fan base.
He highlighted the success and popularity of programs such as 'Zilizala Viwanjani,' 'Kipi Sijasikia,' and 'Paruwanja Kura ya Maoni ya Mwananchi,' which further established his presence among viewers.
"KTN News has taught me so much and built a strong fan base for me through programs like 'Zilizala Viwanjani,' 'Kipi Sijasikia,' and 'Paruwanja Kura ya Maoni ya Mwananchi.' It has been a great honour for me to work with one of the finest stations in the country, and I leave as a journalist to be proud of," expressed Bahajj.
At the sports desk, Bahajj worked alongside popular names such as Hassan Juma and Moses Wakhisi.
