Kibet Bull Announces His Release
The developments came moments after the National Police Service (NPS) confirmed the release of four abducted Kenyans

Cartoonist Gideon Kibet, popularly known as 'Kibet Bull' has announced that he has been released. The visual artist took to his X account to confirm his release from captivity after being abducted by individuals suspected to be state agents.
In his first post since December 2024, he revealed that he was dropped off in Luanda Town, Vihiga County around 3-4 AM on Monday, January 6.
"They dropped me in Luanda Vihiga at 3-4 AM Leo (today). Sikuwa najua (I didn't know) where to enter or book a room," he wrote in part.
"Kidogo form ya (Gradually the plan for) Disco Matanga came in, danced mpaka (until) 6AM when I went to book a ticket."

James Smart, Managing Editor of the Nation Media Group (NMG) revealed on his X account that the "Family has received a call from KIBET in the last few minutes, says he is on his way home."
Human rights activist Hussein Khalid confirmed the release noting that Bull's sister told his team that the cartoonist was heading home.
"Our team Voices Of Community Activists and Leaders of Africa (VOCAL Africa) has confirmed that Kibet Bull has been released and is on his way home. This is according to his sister Mercy who spoke. This makes Kibet Bull the fifth abductee to be released today. We push for the release of all," stated Khalid.
The developments came moments after the National Police Service (NPS) confirmed the release of four abducted Kenyans; Billy Mwangi and Peter Muteti as well as Bernard Kavuli and Kibet's brother, Ronny Kiplangat.
In a statement on Monday, January 6, NPS Spokesperson Resila Onyango revealed that Kavuli who was reported missing at Ngong' Police Station is currently assisting the investigators with further information.
Musyimi, who was abducted in Ngong in December 2024 had reported the matter to Moi's Bridge Police Station after his release.
With regards to cases concerning Mwangi, Muteti and Kiplangat, NPS announced that a team would be dispatched to get information on the abduction and their release.
NPS went on to reveal that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is investigating all cases of missing persons in the country with most of the cases currently pending before court and others under active investigations.
Currently, Steve Mbisi, who was also been reported missing is yet to be found.
