Mwangi disappeared on Saturday, December 21, 2024, in Embu Town. He was at a barbershop waiting to get a haircut, when four hooded men burst in and forcibly abducted him. Witnesses reported that the men mishandled Mwangi before bundling him into a vehicle and driving off.
Earlier, Viral Tea established that Kiplangat was found in Machakos County, having been abducted in Nairobi, while Kavuli, who was abducted in Ngong, was found in Kitale.
Peter Muteti was found in Nairobi CBD, as his family reported that he was disoriented and currently recovering from home.
Kavuli was abducted at a petrol station in Ngong town by four armed men, an incident linked to his social media activities that included criticism of the government and discussions about the 2007 post-election violence in Kenya.
The whereabouts of cartoonist Kibet Bull remains unknown. Steve Mbisi, who was also been reported missing is yet to be found.
