Kithure Kindiki's Promise To MP Who Broke Down During Vetting [VIDEO]
Lesuuda challenged the CS nominee's plans to combat the increasing cases of banditry attacks in the Rift Valley region.
Interior Cabinet Secretary nominee Kithure Kindiki said that in the event he is appointed to office, he will deal with the banditry crisis in the North Rift region for good.
This is after Samburu West Member of Parliament, Naisula Lesuuda broke down during the vetting of Kindiki in Parliament on Tuesday, October 18 while recalling the challenges the residents encountered in a protracted battle with the bandits.
Lesuuda challenged the CS nominee's plans to combat the increasing cases of banditry attacks in the Rift Valley region.

"I will request your indulgence because what I am about to ask is something that I know many of us share in this committee and I constantly get the feeling that officeholders responsible for matters of security don't really understand or even are willing to comprehend the pain caused by insecurity in the north.
"What strategy do you have to end this menace once and for all so that as a leader I can execute my other national duties and concern myself only with security matters?” she posed.
Lesuuda gave an example of how a gang of armed men allegedly attacked herdsmen in her constituency and escaped with their cattle.
Later that morning, Tuesday, October 18, another contingent of armed criminals attacked her constituents, killing one of them and leaving one of her staff amongst two people missing.
“Just yesterday, while I was undertaking this very important national duty, criminals from the neighbouring constituency ambushed herders and drove away with cattle.
"As if that was enough, the criminals continue to be bolder by the day. This morning they attacked again, they killed one person, two people are missing, one who is actually my staff," she cried.
The MP turned her fury towards the government, which she accused of only responding to the death of security personnel at the expense of locals who are killed and nothing is done to solve the issue.
Kindiki sympathised with Lesuuda as well as with the residents living in a majority of Kenya's territory who have been crying out loud for an answer to the brazen attacks.
He noted that he was under instructions from President William Ruto to end the crisis permanently if he assumes office, but did not disclose the plan for dealing with the bandits.
"I agree with the honourable Naisula. She speaks on behalf of about 67 per cent of Kenya's territory, which is largely facing serious insecurity.
"I have been instructed to make sure that we deal with banditry once and for all in the North Rift," he stated.
