LIST: Judge Whom Gachagua Wanted Removed Among 33 Reshuffled By CJ Koome
Before his impeachment by Parliament, Gachagua dropped the petition temporarily after CJ Koome responded to his sentiments.

Chief Justice Martha Koome on Tuesday, December 17, reshuffled 33 judges. These include senior High Court judges as well as Lady Justice Esther Maina, whom former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua had sought for her removal.
Lady Justice Esther Maina was transferred from the Anti-Corruption and Crimes Division Court in Nairobi to Machakos station. Before his impeachment by Parliament, Gachagua dropped the petition temporarily after CJ Koome responded to his sentiments.
In January this year, Gachagua explained that he was aggrieved by the judge's decision to declare his wealth as proceeds of crime in what he termed an act of misconduct and corruption, adding that he was not given a chance to be heard.
"I will lead by example on Thursday this coming week. I will personally present a petition before CJ Koome against Justice Esther Maina for her removal from the Judiciary for misconduct and corruption. She declared my hard-earned wealth as proceeds of crime without allowing me to be heard," he announced during church service in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County on January 14, 2024.
