Kiambu gubernatorial candidate, Moses Kuria, has now told Inspector General of Police (IG) Hillary Mutyambai that he has been receiving threats from President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In a statement addressed to the police boss on Saturday, July 30, Kuria noted that Mutyambai was being used by the President to protect his opponents in the Kiambu gubernatorial race.

The Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) party leader, while claiming that his life was in danger, added that the eventuality on Wednesday, July 27 was excessive and that not even Kiambu Governor, James Nyoro, was being protected like that.

"Dear IG Mutyambai, while your boss Uhuru Kenyatta is busy threatening my life, you are providing police in Uniforms in 3 land rovers under the command of an OCS to my competitor Kimani wa Matangi for all his meetings. It happened on Wednesday in Mungere in Lari and yesterday in Ngegu, Kiambu Town.

"Not even Governor James Nyoro is getting this level of security. Treat us all equally and more so those of us whose lives are in danger after Uhuru Kenyatta's threats," he wrote.

Deputy President William Ruto had made similar allegations at a campaign rally in Nandi, on Friday, July 29 where he claimed that the President was not just targeting him but his children as their row took a turn for the worse.

"If you do not want to support me, leave me alone. With a lot of respect, Mr President, be a decent human being, Be a gentleman, be grateful, we supported you...stop pretending.

"Do not harm my children. Now you have started threatening me with 'I don't know what you will do'. You and I should respect each other," he urged.

Moses Kuria Thrown Out Of UDA Rally

Meanwhile, Kuria was chased from a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) rally in Kiambu County. He was kicked out by Githunguri parliamentary hopeful Gathoni Wamuchomba alongside his brigade on Friday, July 29.

Wamuchomba had accused him of planning to disrupt the event and requested him to leave the venue, which further stoked the fires of the confrontation.

In the video attached, Gathoni wa Muchomba is heard saying, "This is my meeting, don't interrupt my meeting. I don't want to be harassed."

"Gathoni wa Muchomba and UDA, for chasing me from a Kenya Kwanza meeting, I forgive you. For your information, we will win the presidential election but not yet (sic)," he said.

Wa Muchomba later roasted Kuria on Facebook, accusing him of disrespecting her by showing up unannounced.

"Dear Moses Kuria, I am a woman who must be allowed to campaign without violence; you stormed into my meeting without even respect as your colleague just because I am a woman? If it was a man's meeting would you force yourself in uninvited? You even demanded to address the meeting by force?" she posed.

"You have abused me and other women in vulgarity in the past and i forgave you. Now you are at it again. I'll leave it to God who protects women."
