"This is to allow for the 2025 Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon. Motorists are advised to use Mombasa Road (A8) from Ole Sereni Interchange, through Uhuru Highway, and vice versa."
All road users have been further advised to follow the traffic signs and guidance as directed by traffic marshals and the police.
However, KeNHA noted that vehicles travelling from Kikuyu to Dagoretti will still be allowed to use the Southern Bypass, as will those moving from Karen to Kikuyu via Dagoretti Road.
Between midnight and 12:10 p.m., motorists leaving Karen Shopping Centre for Kikuyu through the Southern Bypass can also use Dagoretti Road.
Those heading from Karen Shopping Centre towards Mombasa Road may access the Bypass through Lang’ata Road.
Meanwhile, vehicles from Lang’ata Road (near Galleria Mall) to Kikuyu via the Southern Bypass will be diverted to Dagoretti Road through Lang’ata Road.
Motorists travelling from the Inland Container Depot (ICD) to Kikuyu via the Southern Bypass will instead use Waiyaki Way through Mombasa Road and Uhuru Highway.
Additionally, vehicles moving from Likoni Road to Mombasa Road through the Southern Bypass will be redirected to use Enterprise Road during the closure period.
From midnight to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, motorists heading from Kikuyu to Mombasa Road via the Southern Bypass will use Waiyaki Way.
Drivers from Dagoretti to Mombasa Road are advised to use either Waiyaki Way or Ngong Road and Mbagathi Way.
Those moving from Lenana along Ngong Road to Kikuyu can take Waiyaki Way through either Naivasha Road or James Gichuru Road.
For traffic from Ngong Road heading to Mombasa Road, Lang’ata Road via Karen Road will be the alternative route.
Finally, trailers and lorries travelling from Waiyaki Way to Mombasa Road via the Southern Bypass will also be rerouted to use Waiyaki Way.
