The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has announced that it has reduced the cost of the Harambee Stars replica jerseys ahead of the African Nations Championships (CHAN).

FKF announced in a social media post on Thursday, July 31 that Kenyan football fans across the country can purchase the jerseys for Ksh1,500, which happens to be the same price as a player jersey for any team in Europe's top 5 football leagues.

"Mbona usikuje stadi ukiwa umeng’ara na jezi ya Harambee? (Why not come to the stadium dripping in a Harambee Stars jersey) Get your official Stars jersey for only Ksh 1,500..but hurry, this promo runs for one week only!" FKF announced.

Announcing the decision, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed said the move was in response to numerous calls to extend the offer ahead of the tournament, set to be held in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

However, he did caution that the offer was to last for a period of a week, perhaps until August 7. He did not mention if the deal would go beyond that given that demand would increase as the tournament progresses.

“I am happy to announce that following requests from Kenyans, we will be subsidising the costs of Harambee Stars replica kits from the previous price of Ksh 2,500. This offer is available for a limited period…maybe up to the 7th of August,” the president said.

Mohammed urged Kenyans to act fast while stocks last, noting that the jerseys are available for purchase via the kit manufacturer’s website and at East West Fashions, located at Sonalux House on Moi Avenue, Nairobi CBD.

He added that the national team is set to unveil a fresh set of kits following the CHAN tournament. The upcoming kits stem from a competitive design process, where FKF invited designers to submit proposals for new national team uniforms.

Mohammed also called on Kenyans to show up in large numbers at Kasarani Stadium on Sunday afternoon and fill the stands with red, white, and green as the national team begins its CHAN campaign against the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

“We call on all Kenyans who have already purchased tickets and come and fill Kasarani to the rafters. If you have not yet bought the tickets, you can watch the game at home and support our national team. We are Pan Africanists and so we encourage you to not only watch Kenya’s games but all the other matches,” he said.

Kenya’s Group A rivals, Morocco and the Democratic Republic of Congo, have already landed in the country, with the North African side arriving first on Sunday night.

Kenyans will also get to experience the revamped Nyayo and Kasarani stadiums, which have been upgraded to meet CAF and FIFA standards following major government investment.

The improvements include new playing surfaces, modernized changing rooms and washrooms, durable seating, a canopy at Kasarani, and enhanced facilities — all aimed at delivering a top-tier experience for both fans and players.

The tournament kicks off on Saturday, August 2, at Tanzania’s Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam and will conclude on Saturday, August 30, at Nairobi’s Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
