Ruto To Send KDF To Nairobi
He did not disclose when the meeting took place nor did he reveal when the officers would be deployed.

President William Ruto has moved to deploy the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) to the city of Nairobi.
Speaking while launching the affordable housing project at Shauri Moyo on Friday, January 27, Ruto revealed that he will use his powers as the Commander-In-Chief to incorporate KDF into his Nairobi transformational project.
"Because I'm the Commander-In-Chief, the KDF soldiers are the Kenya Defence Forces, this means that they are also Kenyans and they know the importance of the city of Nairobi.
"I have already sat down with them and we have agreed that we will develop the city of Nairobi including Kamukunji, Eastleigh and Kiambiu," he stated.
However, he did not disclose when the meeting took place nor did he reveal when the officers would be deployed. He also did not reveal if the military force would partner with agencies or work with the Nairobi County Government.
"I want proper planning the same way we are doing in Kibra, we want to do it in Kiambiu so that we can salvage the millions of people, I'm told that 30,000 people live in Kiambiu where there is no proper planning, there is no road, there is no hospital, there is no school.
"It cannot happen at the heart of the city of Nairobi that there is no school nor hospital. That is a big mistake and we are going to rectify it because we want to do the right thing for the people of the city of Nairobi," he added.
Ruto further ordered the contractors to construct affordable housing premises which are 25 storeys tall to accommodate residents.
Turning to the opposition, Ruto expressed a belief that they will reduce their criticism of the current regime on their own, adding that they couldn't manage the same pressure they are piling upon the current government.
"They'll calm down. They should let me do the work...they couldn't do it until unga rose to Ksh230. Right now they should let me set aside a good plan so that we can grow food. We got to the point of unga costing Ksh230 because of lacking a plan," he stated.
During the same address, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua clarified that the latest order on licensing of bars and restaurants was meant to deal with illicit brew, which he had ordered a crackdown on across the country.
"What we have said and I repeat, our officers will fight illicit brew, but not businesses that are licensed. What we have requested the governors is to reconsider the bars and restaurants operating 24 hours. Let the time be reduced.
"Our work is to watch over and help businesses thrive and we must help all businessmen to expand their businesses. Let the others operate as bars. So that people can drink until 11 pm so that people can go back home, relax and get back to work the following day when they are fresh," he stated.
