The row between controversial social media influencer and media personality Andrew Kibe and immediate former Kiss 100 FM presenter Kamene Goro entered another episode on Friday, January 27.

Speaking to the media on her final day at the station, Kamene cleared the air on constant attacks on her online by her former co-host who currently lives in the United States (US) and runs his own YouTube channel.

She noted that Kibe had heightened his expectations when he left the show, something which triggered the fallout between the two who were poached from NRG Radio at the same time in 2019.

"It's into that I didn't enjoy it it's just that having other co-hosts I realized it wasn't healthy. Kibe was my friend and I think he expected that when he went I would leave with him.

"I don't understand why he does what he does nowadays, I just don't understand and what he does is extremely distasteful but let him play like himself," she said.

When asked about the fallout, Kamene clarified that the row between them was worsened by the nagging habit of Kibe dragging her name to increase his viewership on YouTube.

"I have no personal beef with him, he is the one who started to disrespect me by talking about me, my beef is when he started dragging my name for views, he should be the last person to judge how people are living life"

"I have this policy in life, I have nothing to respond to him about, and I have no intention of reaching out to him," she added.

Kibe however lashed back at her, claiming that she is lazy and her attitude would prove difficult for her to survive in another work environment following her exit from the station.

"How can a lazy person such as her survive in this environment? This industry has no room for lazy people, consistency is key. Even if you don't feel like it, even if you have been washed by a corporate...come in and speak through your pain, speak through your heartbreak.

The business environment does not care about your problems...work through your pain and walk it off," he stated on his channel, giving examples of celebrities who have kept working on their craft no matter the difficulties.

Kibe also faulted his former co-presenter for going slow on her social media pages, noting that Kamene should start working on her social media accounts and chart her own path, now that she has left the station.

He was referring to an article published by Viral Tea which exposed her habit of regularly skipping work while at the Radio Africa Group station and providing insubstantial excuses for the same. According to sources, she would call in sick on several occasions but go on vacations and share photos as well as videos on social media while on holiday.

The behaviour of Kamene had drawn the ire of Radio Africa's management and was not showing an effort to end her absenteeism despite earning Ksh340,000 per month.

The top hierarchy of the radio franchise, which owns Classic105, Kiss100, Radio Jambo, Homeboyz, Gukena, and East FM as well as The Star newspaper and Mpasho website, had attempted to deal with the problem by setting up a disciplinary hearing to investigate the radio host's behaviour.

Kamene also reportedly contacted colleagues an hour before the start of The Morning Kiss Breakfast show running every weekday from 6 am to 10 am, stating that she wouldn't make it to work and asked one of them to fill in for her.

To make matters worse, the show's ratings went on a decline, which hurt its chances of attracting lucrative companies to advertise their products and brands on the show, even though she was taking home a huge salary.

As a result, the management decided not to renew her contract, leading to her eventual exit.
