Police investigating the case believed that the suspect could have switched vehicles before fleeing Nairobi as his last phone signal was traced to Narok County.
The husband left the car keys and three bags in the vehicle, which police took as evidence and towed the vehicle to Athi River Police Station.
"We are tracking him. His last phone signal was recorded in Narok at 6:26 am (May 9, 2024) before his phone went off," a police officer investigating the case told the media.
The detectives are puzzled as to how the perpetrator silently conducted the gruesome murder without anyone hearing a commotion from the bedroom.
On Friday, Wegesho's family transferred the body from Shalom Community Hospital Morgue to Chiromo Morgue pending a post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death.
The circumstances surrounding Wegesha's tragic passing remain speculative, with unconfirmed reports suggesting that she fell victim to a tragic turn of events possibly orchestrated by her spouse, resulting from a relationship soured by love turned bitter.
"She was married to Jack Bamboo, the director of Light Uriri Academy in Migori. There's speculation that the incident might have been caused by infidelity and a toxic marriage," a source was quoted by TUKO.co.ke.
The sudden and tragic circumstances surrounding the woman's death came as a great shock to those who knew her and her husband, particularly as they had openly and frequently displayed affection, garnering admiration from their followers.
Disturbing images circulated online, depicted severe lacerations on her neck, hinting at a violent attack with a sharp object.
Before her untimely demise, Wegesha had established herself as a prominent figure within the Ohangla community and was the owner of JB Lounge, a popular entertainment joint nestled in Nairobi's Umoja area.
