Residents of Kitengela, Kajiado County were on Tuesday, December 13 treated to dramatic scenes as a male reveller dragged a woman to a police station after accusing her of spiking his drink and robbing one of his family members.

The heavily built shirtless man was captured in a video seen by Viral Tea sandwiching the woman and a bodaboda rider onto a motorcycle after catching her red-handed at a local pub along Baraka road where the incident allegedly took place.

The man, identified as Emmanuel Wamalwa, could not muster the strength to drag the woman to the police post by himself, and thus summoned the bodaboda rider.

Attempts by members of the public to rescue her were however met by his claims that "Huyu ni mtu wa mchele, twende polisi (this is a pishori lady, let's go to the police)".

Meanwhile, the woman could be heard complaining to Wamalwa that she was being taken to the police station without her consent.

"This man requested me to take them to Kitengela Police Station from a club on Baraka Road. He claims the lady spiked his drink," said the bodaboda rider when he was approached.

Police officers were puzzled when the trio arrived at the station with the man shouting "Ingia hapa police station na mchele yako. Siwezi kukuachilia (Get into the police station with your pishori, I'm not letting you go)". A heavily-armed female police officer led her into the station as Wamalwa followed behind.

Kitengela police commander David Ole Shani intervened and the woman took cover behind the reporting desk at the station.

Wamalwa, who works as a security personnel in one of the local night spots, said he has been trailing the woman after she stole an unspecified amount of money from him and his uncle after spiking his drink two weeks prior.

"I have been looking for the woman and this morning I found her in a new pub. I went there as a customer and she tried to spike my drink before she became hostile and claimed I was reluctant to pay the bill," he told police officers.

On her part, the suspect, identified as Aivin Laboso denied Wamalwa's claims that she was part of a squad of notorious booze spikers who have taken Kitengela nightspots by storm.

Laboso accused him of failing to settle a Ksh1,750 alcohol bill. Investigations into the matter have since been launched.

Back in July, a 23-year-old medical student at Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) in Makindu, Makeuni County saw his attempts to successfully execute a fake kidnapping hit a dead-end owing to a chance encounter with one of the female members of the notorious drink-spiking gang.

The student, Edwin Kamau, was taken into custody at Kayole police station after he staged his own kidnapping to milk money from his parents, according to a statement by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Thursday, July 7.
