TV47 on Friday, June 23 recruited news anchors Fred Indimuli and Ahmed Bahajj, who previously worked at Standard Group Limited TV station, KTN News.

The two, according to reports, joined the fast-growing TV station under Cape Media, which also owns Radio 47, all of which are undergoing transformations to place themselves in a competitive media market.

A photo seen by Viral Tea showed Indimuli and Bahajj outside TV47 studios in Parklands alongside Zubeida Koome, who is currently the President of the Kenya Editors' Guild (KEG).

However, neither of their reporting dates at the station nor their new roles were disclosed. TV47 at the same time appointed Joe Munene as its new CEO.

At the Standard Group Limited, Bahajj, the once-renowned KTN News reporter, concluded his remarkable tenure of four years and six months at the Mombasa Road-based media house.

During his tenure, he made a significant impact as the host of the popular sports show, 'Zalazala Viwanjani.' Reflecting on his journey, Bahajj acknowledged the platform that KTN News provided, allowing him to connect with a large and dedicated fan base.

He highlighted the success and popularity of programs such as 'Zilizala Viwanjani,' 'Kipi Sijasikia,' and 'Paruwanja Kura ya Maoni ya Mwananchi,' which further established his presence among viewers.

"KTN News has taught me so much and built a strong fan base for me through programs like 'Zilizala Viwanjani,' 'Kipi Sijasikia,' and 'Paruwanja Kura ya Maoni ya Mwananchi.' It has been a great honour for me to work with one of the finest stations in the country, and I leave as a journalist to be proud of," expressed Bahajj.

At the sports desk, Bahajj worked alongside popular names such as Hassan Juma and Moses Wakhisi.

Prior to his tenure at KTN News, he worked at China Radio International where he established himself as a proficient Swahili reporter with a diverse background.

Indimuli served as a news anchor at KTN News, where he hosted programs such as Inside Politics and delivered prime-time news. He joined the station in September 2021, replacing Ben Kitili (who is now at Nation Media Group) shortly after his departure from the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).

Indimuli was notably part of KBC's rebrand in June 2021 which included the recruitment of new vibrant anchors in a bid to return to its glory days as the state broadcaster.

Other journalists who joined KBC around June 2021 included Cynthia Nyamai, Fayaz Kureish, Shiksha Arora, Ahmed Juma Bhalo, and Tom Mboya.

At KBC, Indimuli, a graduate of the University of Nairobi (UoN), co-hosted Easy Friday with Shiksha and joined with working experience at the likes of Citizen TV, K24, and Indika Media.
