Cape Media TV station, TV47 is set to launch its revamped look on Tuesday, July 18, Viral Tea can authoritatively report.

A source aware of matters regarding the TV station revealed that the big launch will feature new studios as well as new shows, TV personalities and even new studios.

A video sent exclusively to Viral Tea offered a glimpse of one of the new news studios which is bigger than the previous version, with an expanded space presumably to accommodate panel interviews on top of presentation of news bulletins.

One of Kenya's fastest-growing TV stations has been for the past few days sharing countdown posts in preparation for the grand launch in what is viewed as a bold attempt to challenge established mainstream media houses in the country.

Apart from the countdown posts, TV47 has also been teasing a lineup of presenters as part of a revamped newsroom that will be dedicated to bringing viewers 'Untold Stories'.

Viral Tea however noticed in one of the teasers that one of the presenters being hinted at in the revamp was Grace Kuria Kanja, an experienced broadcast journalist with over six years in the media industry, whom our source at the station indicated that she is headed to the station.

The identities of the other presenters were however not independently established, though they may be saved for unveiling on the material day.

It was unclear whether or not Kuria had left the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) where she has been working as a Broadcast Journalist since September 2021, at the time we made public details of her move to TV47 on Wednesday, July 5.

In one of its teaser clips, a woman in a blue dress is seen entering its newsroom and getting down to filing reports as well as being handed a script whose headline read '9 pm weekend news' with the woman working on it, seemingly ahead of the news bulletin.

Upon inquiry, the source had confirmed that the woman is Kuria, though Viral Tea couldn't independently verify if she would take up the 9 pm weekend bulletin slot at the station.

Viral Tea reached out to the former KTN News anchor for confirmation and she replied with "Unfortunately I can't confirm or deny."

TV47 has been on a ruthless and relentless poaching spree of popular news anchors as well as experienced journalists across its editorial space, both digital as well as legacy media.

On Friday, June 23, the station recruited news anchors Fred Indimuli and Ahmed Bahajj, who previously worked at Standard Group Limited TV station, KTN News.

Cape Media also went for digital media houses, recruiting Gibendi Ramenya as its Head of Digital Innovations, having left TUKO Media as its Managing Director (MD).

"Ramenya will spearhead the Group's Digital Transformation and Product Innovations in line with changing audience preferences. Reporting to the CEO, he will champion the use of digital technology and practices in newsroom operations and journalism," revealed Cape Media in a statement.
