Two Businessmen Among 4 Arrested For Murder Of Man During An Argument

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Sunday, March 17 arrested two business persons in connection to the murder of a young man on Thursday, March 7.

In a statement, the DCI, terming their arrest of the duo as a relief to residents of Dandora Phase IV and the entire Eastlands, revealed that the sleuths based at Starehe managed to nab the duo involved in purchasing a phone stolen from the victim.

The DCI reported that investigations led sleuths to the business shop of the first suspect where the victim's mobile phone earlier robbed by the perpetrators of the evil act was taken, and later sold out by him to the second suspect who was arrested in its possession.

"From the shops of the two suspects, a total of 95 assorted mobile phones believed to be stolen property were confiscated. The operation to keep our streets safe continues," stated the DCI in part.

On Saturday, March 16, two notorious criminals were arrested with DCI crediting the efforts of a combined team of detectives drawn from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau from Nairobi region, DCI Starehe and General duty officers.

The March 7 murder had reportedly occurred when the two suspects and the victim were walking in the same direction in the wee hours.

After a disagreement, one of them drew a knife and stabbed the other on the left side of the chest. 

They fled from the scene but the victim who sustained a deep cut on the left side of the chest succumbed to the injuries while receiving treatment at Baba Dogo health facility.

"The two suspects who fled the scene after the heinous act were smoked from their hideouts in Baraka estate and Kwa Bhajia areas in Dandora have been linked to a spate of criminal activities that have been reported in Baba Dogo, Huruma and Lucky Summer," stated the DCI.

In a similar crackdown in October 2023, DCI detectives arrested 11 suspects in Eldoret believed to be harbouring an assortment of stolen electronics, including mobile phones.

Backed up by Eldoret Police Station officers, the detectives raided the Petresha Building within Eldoret Township where several electronic repair shops believed to be confiscating stolen items were searched and assorted electronics without prerequisite ownership receipts recovered. 

156 mobile phones, 41 laptops, 45 TVs, 25 gas cylinders, 8 fridges, 5 microwaves, 3 gas cookers, 3 water dispensers, 5 woofers, and 1 Canon camera were among the items recovered.
