"What a whirlwind couple of days it has been. We are elated beyond words, grateful and in love and awe of our little human. We're finally back home. Our rent-free housemate is about to reveal her true colours as she schools us through the 4th trimester. Parenthood 101 is now in session,” she wrote.

Nderu has been impressing her fans all through her pregnancy journey to the point of even sharing that she curated a whole music playlist in labour.

“I will be that person walking/crawling into my labour room with a JBL speaker, B with a cooler box and our squad of labour supporters and my over-packed hospital bag with all kinds of essentials whose use remains to be seen,” read part of her caption on the video.

She also revealed that she had imported her baby's clothing, adding that she enjoyed redecorating and researching baby’s outfits online.

Many fans have since joined in sharing congratulatory messages to Nderu for her new bundle of joy.

On the details of and behind the scenes culminating in the announcement on Monday, July 11 that she was pregnant, she disclosed that it took nearly five days of work behind the scenes as well as touching up on final looks to come up with the showstopper unveiling which went viral across the country.

She credited the likes of Anita Makanye, a leading beauty influencer and content creator based in Nairobi and the CEO and founder of Hair by Makanye, for the hairstyles that were showcased in the video which was nearly two minutes long. Makanye was amongst a team of creatives that worked hard to deliver the final product.

"This recap has made me cry...took close to 5 days to just shoot BTS and final looks. This recap sums up the teamwork during the shoot days.

"Makanye executed all the hairstyles in the video. I am so honoured and grateful to have worked with such an incredible team of talented Kenyan creatives," she wrote in her stories.

She further credited Art Siteya for coming up with the production concept behind the video till the last minute and delivering it to the best of her ability.

Turning to her own pregnancy, Nderu expressed her gratitude to her fans for the several congratulatory messages and messages of encouragement towards her and her husband, Barrett Raftery, ahead of the next phase of their life journey.

"It has been an interesting couple of months being pregnant What an experience! Also yaaaay boobs!

"We want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the congratulatory messages, kind words, messages, calls, your presence, presents, advice and support Barrett Raftery and I are so excited and look forward to our new journey as parents," she wrote in an Instagram post.

Unlike other celebrities who keep details of their unborn or newborns on the low, the couple had actually decided to feature their baby’s heartbeat in the clip.

The video showed Nderu dressed in a series of African attire and prints all over her body as well as outfits made from Maasai and Nigerian beads.  In the midst of it, Nderu's pregnancy bump came to the limelight, with her seemingly making a phone call to an unknown person with the words "News just in".
