Daddy Owen Speaks On Reported Visit By Charlene Ruto To His Home [PHOTOS]

Renowned Kenyan musician Owen Mwatia, popularly known as Daddy Owen has spoken for the first time about the reported visit by Charlene Ruto, the daughter of President William Ruto to his home in Kakamega County.

He took to social media on Tuesday, January 2 to showcase photos of the visit by the First Daughter to his home in Eshieywe, which was marked by an assortment of festivities, including music, dance, and ululations that resonated through Ebhusang'ang'a village.

The Vanity singer was giving his highlights of 2023, with the visit, which was reported by some news outlets as an introduction ceremony, the pinnacle of his entire year.

"2023 was a good year! I thank GOD! I had so many highlights, but the climax, the pinnacle and the crowning moment came at the tail end of the year when Charlene Ruto visited my home in Eshieywe a.k.a Kakamega," he narrated in part.

"We celebrated with songs, dance and ululations! Abhashiere came with their best dancing shoes to whirl to the real isikuti made from the tough "imbulu" skin!" 

During the exciting visit, Daddy Owen recalled being treated to various Abhatsotso traditional delicacies from "amakwakwata" to "lhisebhebhe".

The village exuded happiness throughout, with Daddy Owen's mother expressing his delight as she tends to welcome guests.

"Ebhusang'ang'a village was HAPPY, my mum was HAPPY, she loves guests.. and the guests were HAPPY as well! So...HAPPY 2024 to y'all!" he concluded.

Charlene and Daddy Owen on December 27, 2023, became the subject of intense speculation and rumours surrounding a relationship in the works.

Details of the alleged ceremony as reported by a series of local media houses quickly spread on social media and some even congratulated Daddy Owen for finally winning over the heart of the First Daughter.

The buzz surrounding the two regarding their potential union saw Charlene Ruto and Daddy Owen becoming part of the top trends on X for the better part of the day, with neither of them yet to confirm nor deny the reports.

The award-winning gospel singer, with a career spanning years and at least 28 awards under his belt, remains a prominent figure in the music industry.

Known for his Kapungala style, Daddy Owen has produced numerous certified hits in Kenya and Africa.

The pair have been involved in several charity events in recent weeks. In true Christmas spirit, they recently boarded several matatus in Nairobi and gave out shopping vouchers.

Charlene wore a buibui, hijab and shades to disguise herself as one of the passengers in the matatu and disclosed that she learned a lot about Kenyans during the matatu rides.

In November this year, Owen and Charlene were pictured at a basketball match leading to speculation that they are an item.

However, in an interview with Milele FM, the singer clarified that they are good friends and are working on several projects together.
